New this year will be a pre-conference PR Boot Camp to help broaden your strategic thinking and sharpen your communication skills to be ready for the many challenges school leaders face on a daily basis. Our pre-conference Boot Camp will cover research-based best practices in internal and external communication, crisis communication, measuring the value of school PR and templates for building a variety of strategic communication plans. Whether you’re new to your PR/communications role or you’ve been practicing PR for a while without formal training, this half-day session is designed to help.

About the Facilitator - Trinette Marquis, APR is the Executive Director of the California School Public Relations Association and has been recognized throughout her career, including the 2010 National “Leadership through Communication Award,” presented by the American Association of Schools Administrators and the National School Public Relations Association (NSPRA). In addition to serving as a communications director in health care, technology, and education, she has consulted extensively with school districts and county offices of education throughout the country, assisting them in communications research, building and strengthening PR departments, strategic planning, training, and special projects. She is a lecturer at California State University, Sacramento and is the author of Engaging Data: Smart Strategies for School Communication and the soon-to-be-released Communicating Principal: Practical Strategies for School Leaders.
