The California School Public Relations Association (CalSPRA) is pleased to announce the selection of Trinette Marquis, APR as Executive Director. Trinette will begin her new position on September 1, 2021.
Marquis is an award-winning professional communicator, published author, business owner, and speaker with more than two decades of experience. Currently, Marquis is an adjunct professor for California State University Sacramento and American River Colleges, where she teachers several courses in Communications Studies. Marquis is also a previous board member and past president of CalSPRA.

This organization has given so much to me over the years, and I look forward to providing systems of support, training, connections, and service to ensure that members are a guiding light and force for good in their districts and on their campuses,” said Trinette Marquis, APR.
The position of Executive Director (ED) is a new position for CalSPRA. As a professional organization with more than 500 members, CalSPRA has seen significant growth in membership over the past several years. The ED position has been created to strategically support the growth of the organization and its members and reports directly to the current CalSPRA president. The ED will be critical in raising CalSPRA to the next level, assisting with the development and implementation of CalSPRA’s multi-year strategic plan.
As part of its strategic plan, CalSPRA has the following five goals:
1. Build a reputation as a national leader in school communications
2. Grow and retain membership
3. Ensure efficient, effective, and up-to-date systems
4. Deliver relevant, high-impact programs, resources, and services
5. Lead for equity

Marquis earned her Masters’s Degree in Organizational Communication from California State University and her Accreditation in Public Relations in 2013.
